This was my final major project for my Bachelor's Degree at UCA Farnham (UK). I'm very proud of the result and I will keep working on improving it as I learn about new tools. I used Zbrush for the high poly, 3DsMax for retopology and UVs, Blender for hair and Photoshop to fix minor issues in the texture maps. Finally I used Substance Painter for texturing. I rendered it in Marmoset Toolbag and later fixed up the renders in Photoshop. I also researched and learnt a lot about Unreal Engine rendering and ended up filming a short found footage type of video. I got most of my inspiration from the Mandela Catalogue videos from Alex Kister in Youtube. I also explored the Uncanny Valley effect in depth and tried to depict a Wendigo based on the traditional descriptions from the folklore of the Algonquian-speaking parts of North America, where the myth originated from. With this project I wanted to show my love and capability for Creature Art.
